The Old Stranmillis (Road) Residents’ Association was established in 2005 to promote the interests of the residents’ in the area.
Our first public meeting was held in the Assembly Hall of Stranmillis Primary School, Knightsbridge Park where over 200 people were in attendance.
The area we represent embraces the area from the roundabout at Stranmillis College, Lockview Road and surrounding streets extending to include the developments at Cutters Lane and Laganvale and them extending along the Sharman Road and the boundary of the Lagan Meadows and them extending to and along Bladon Drive but not including Bladon Drive (as it has its own Residents Association) this being the boundary on the South side. All those houses running down the Malone Road from Bladon Drive to the Stranmillis Road are also included in the boundary.
The Committee consists of a Chairman, Deputy Chairman, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, and Treasurer as well as a number of members without portfolio.
We have worked with all political groupings and the main statutory bodies, including Roads Service, Planning Service and Belfast City Council.
Stranmillis is within the new Botanic DEA and the South Belfast Parliamentary and Assembly Constituency.
